The Radio Show

In 2019, the 2 Blokes decided to create a weekly podcast, chatting about the AFL, VFL, VFLW and the local football leagues in and around Geelong - the GFL, the BFL and the GDFL.

During the same period, Rob was hosting the weekly Sportsfix program and Neil was presenting the weekly music program,  Turn Up Your Radio, on Geelong's premier community radio station, 94.7 The Pulse.

And then along came COVID-19, resulting in 94.7 The Pulse limiting its daily live broadcasting to 2 hours per day.

Initially, Rob and Neil were asked to present a "fill-in" program for three weeks (because surely the impact of COVID would be done and dusted in that time!) and The 2 Blokes Chatting Radio Show was born.

As we enter 2022, the 2 Blokes have now clocked up around 80 programs and so, it looks like they are here to stay!

The 2 Blokes Chatting Radio Show is broadcast live from 9:00am till 11:00am (Geelong, Victoria time) every Saturday morning on 94.7 The Pulse. You can listen to The Pulse 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by tuning your FM wireless to 94.7FM in and around Geelong or by accessing the web stream at www.947thepulse.com

Each week, the program follows a similar structure:

9:00amLocal weather for Geelong, the Bellarine and the Surf Coast
9:05amOur birthday artist
9:15amJohn Didge (fishing) / Alyce Tzotzis (women's sport) - alternate weeks
9:30amThe Long Run

Regional Roundup

As we have said elsewhere, the 2 Blokes are passionate about Regional Australia and believe we should be doing everything we can to promote regional centres across Victoria and, occasionally, on the other side of the borders.

As part of this commitment to their regional friends, the 2 Blokes created a weekly segment called Regional Roundup where they chat to someone located in a regional town or city. From Mildura to Buchan, from Warrnambool to Numurkah, the 2 Blokes spend 10 or 15 minutes chatting to their regional correspondent about life in their town and their region.

To listen to our most Regional Roundup conversations, please visit our YouTube Channel page.

The 2 Blokes like to spread the love around and so if you, or someone you know, lives in regional Victoria (or just the other side of the NSW or SA border) and would like to be a guest on Regional Roundup, please send them a message via the Contact page.

Whaddya Reckon?

The most recent addition to the 2 Blokes Chatting schedule - it's a pretty simple concept.

One of the Blokes will make a statement or present a conversation topic and finish it with the question - Whaddya Reckon?

Sometimes serious, more likely lighthearted. It just seems like a really good way to introduce some consistency and structure to our conversation in the second half of every program.

We think it's a great idea. Whaddya reckon?
